Job Description

Do you have a passion for logistics Do you thrive with variety Then this could be the perfect role for you!Our Global manufacturing client based in Southam, Warwickshire are looking to recruit a permanent Stores Person / Driver.Stores Person / Driver benefits:

  • Private Medical Insurance after successful completion of a 6 month probationary period
  • Salary: £22,000 per annum
  • Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 8am until 5pm, Friday 8am until 4pm - 36.5 hours
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • 20 days holiday + 3 days for the Christmas shutdown + 8 statutory days = 31 in total
  • Sickness - discretionary company sick - full pay for the 12 weeks, followed by 50% of pay for a further 12 weeks per year after successful completion of a 6 month probationary period
  • Pension
The role:To contribute to the efficiency and profitability of the business by ensuring that goods received conform to quality procedures and the company standards and that customer orders are picked, packed and go out right first time, on time, every time.Stores Person / Driver responsibilities:
  • Pick and pack customer orders
  • Receive and dispatch goods
  • Deliver / Collect goods when required
  • Pick and clean products prior to packing and complete dispatch paperwork as required
  • Load and unload materials using the Forklift if required (and you have the appropriate licence)
  • Check goods received against the purchase order and quality control procedures, complete paperwork and place the goods in the appropriate location in the stores
  • Create stores locations for new parts on Sage
  • Advise the Stores Manager regarding purchase requirements for materials when stocks get near to minimum stock levels
  • Input stock transactions to Sage and update Kardex and use barcoding when implemented
  • Light assembly duties when required
  • Drive company vehicles to carry out activities as directed
  • Assist in the annual stock take
Stores Person / Driver responsibilities:
  • Full Driving Licence essential
  • Forklift Licence essential
  • Be willing to learn about new products, procedures and designs
  • Numerate and literate
  • Quality control
  • Conscientious, methodical, organised and tidy
  • Detail conscious, accurate and diligent
  • Flexible in approach and able to use initiative
  • Good communication and team player
  • Effective interpretation of instructions
  • Proactive and capable of planning ahead and time management
  • Adaptable and capable of managing changing priorities and tasks
