Job Description

Our client is a well-established, unique business based in Southam. Due to a sabbatical leave in the business they are now looking to appoint a Group Accountant into the team to work within their busy, growing team on 13 Month FTC. This really is a fantasticplace to work and a foundation to build your career. The successful candidate must be friendly and personable with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage their own workload effectively.Main responsibilities:

  • To maintain accurate and up to date accounts, perform monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities for three separate companies
  • Day to day accounts duties - Sales ledger & Purchase ledger
  • To prepare monthly staff salaries (Moneysoft Payroll), deal with Inland Revenue returns
  • Responsible for quarterly statutory returns (VAT)
  • Analyse and report on financial status including variances, communicate financial results to management
  • Budget preparation and analysis
  • Ensure compliance with current legislation
  • Banking responsibilities - Payments, Receipts, Reconciliations
  • Apply effective credit control
  • Advanced computer skills - Sage
  • Excellent organisational, problem solving, project management and communication skills
  • Tax planning, produce business plans and business strategies
  • Control cash flow
  • Interpret and communicate financial information to non financial Managers
  • Monitor and evaluate financial performance
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Maths and English GSCE or equivalent
  • ACCA / CIMA / AAT/ PQ / QBE
  • Specific proven ability against the identified set of responsibilities
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrate well-developed numerical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under pressure, notably meet deadlines set
  • Ability to develop good working relationships both internally and externally, notably team members and individuals at all levels, as required
  • Ability to be committed, tenacious and focused and to work in a structured and efficient manner
  • Team player with the ability to work autonomously
