Job Description

Location: UK Flexible Contract: 2 years Fixed Term Contract Salary: Circa £28,000 per annum (plus London weighting if applicable) Strategy through a youth lens is a 24-month programme funded by the Pears #iWill Fund (a partnership fund of Pears Foundation,The National Lottery Community Fund and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport) to ensure that as the British Red Cross transitions into our new corporate strategy, opportunities to add value for young people are identified and maximised. Focusingon our core causes of disasters and emergencies, health inequalities and displacement and migration and our 3 sustainability pillars of investing in our people, green organisation and building a movement, we strive to embed the lived experience of young peopleso that we can co-design meaningful interventions and understand better how we can work in partnership with young people as volunteers, supporters and advocates.What you will be doing As Youth Engagement Worker, you will lead on direct engagement with youngpeople by building relationships based on trust and respect. You will create empowering environments to enable an inclusive range of young people sharing diverse views to support co-production approaches. You will also be responsible for delivering youth referencepanels capturing and reporting insight and feeding back the results to stakeholders. Working as part of a small team reporting to the programme manager, you will work within the Youth Engagement team and will liaise frequently with external youth organisationsand BRC staff and volunteers. Post covid restrictions the post will not only involve working online but face to face with frequent travel across the UK.What we are looking for With a recognised minimum level 3 qualification in youth work or equivalent by experience,you will have: * Working knowledge of legislation relevant to working with and supporting young people * Experience of working with young people in a variety of settings * Experience of working in partnership with external organisations * Experience in projectmanagement and the implementation of action plans * The ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervisionMeet the team Its simple: people make the British Red Cross.
