Do you have a Proven track record of having responsibility for the day to day management of volunteers and are passionate and enthusiastic about the benefits of great volunteer involvement If so, this could be the role for you.What its like to work hereItsan exciting time to join our team at Upton, over the next five years we will be focussing upon our collections of porcelain, paintings, and plants. The National Trust has over 500 historic houses, castles, ancient monuments, gardens, parks and nature reserves(including 9 lighthouses, 56 villages, 39 pubs and a gold mine). Upton House is one of only 28 of those places earmarked as a Treasure House because of the quality of our collections. For that reason, it is especially important that we share these treasures,and we will trial various methods of interpretation and engagement working in collaboration with our volunteers, visitors, guest curators and local stakeholders to ensure everyone has the chance to enjoy nature, beauty and history here as we move towards becominga world class cultural destination.Although the role will be based at Upton House, the role will also be involved with our volunteers and communities across the portfolio including Canons Ashby, Farnborough Hall and Lyveden.What youll be doingYoull havea sound working knowledge and experience of volunteering principles and practice and will be able to demonstrate the ability to adapt your style and tone to meet the changing needs of your audience. Youll also be able to recognise the key differences betweenstaff and volunteering roles, particularly the legal framework, the approach to reward and recognition, and dealing with challenging situations. The role includes operational responsibilities of being on the Duty Manager rota, which includes one weekend permonth and one day per month.Who were looking for Demonstrate a sound understanding of volunteering and be enthusiastic about promoting the benefits of great volunteer involvement and opportunities Be passionate and enthusiastic about working with volunteersand understand the differences between staff and volunteers, particularly the legal frameworks Have excellent customer services and communication skills Have a flexible approach and be a great team player, be able to lead on and work with other peoples agendastowards a common purpose Be well organised and attentive to detail A sound working knowledge of volunteering principles and practice IT skills (Microsoft Office) Knowledge and experience of budget management
