Alongside providing general needs housing Clarion also delivers support services to some of the most vulnerable people in society. Our work supporting individuals and families whohave experienced domestic abuse offers our customers the opportunity to move on and live fulfilled, safe lives following the trauma theyve experienced. The role of Support Officer whilst challenging at times, is an extremely rewarding one.Who are we lookingforTo be successful in this role you need to have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children, ideally having previous experience in a similar role. Were looking for people who have the qualitiesand skills we feel would most benefit our clients; professionalism, empathy and understanding, and a desire to develop their own knowledge and skills to best support our clients.As a Support Officer, youll work alongside colleagues in supported housing andthe IDVA and outreach services in Kent to help clients and their families stay safe and recover from abuse. Youll use a person centred and trauma informed approach to assess the clients needs and create an individual support plan. You may be required tohelp clients to access: welfare benefits; support for debt issues; safe accommodation; support for court hearings or child protection meetings; support for their children; support from drug, alcohol and mental health services.
