The role of Support Officer whilst challenging at times, is an extremely rewarding one.Who are we lookingforTo be successful in this role you need to have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children, ideally having previous experience in a similar role. Were looking for people who have the qualitiesand skills we feel would most benefit our clients; professionalism, empathy and understanding, and a desire to develop their own knowledge and skills to best support our clients.As a Support Officer, youll work alongside colleagues in supported housing andthe IDVA and outreach services in Kent to help clients and their families stay safe and recover from abuse. Youll use a person centred and trauma informed approach to assess the clients needs and create an individual support plan. You may be required tohelp clients to access: welfare benefits; support for debt issues; safe accommodation; support for court hearings or child protection meetings; support for their children; support from drug, alcohol and mental health services.
