We have a rich history dating back over 700 years with philanthropy as the common thread between our past, present and future.The Company is looking to recruit a Supervising Archivist who will initially be based off-site with our Company Archive Records in West London while a new Archive is built with some time spent in the Livery Hall on Cheapside as required. This role will develop and deliver high-quality customer focused archive services and ensure high standards in documentation, display and preservation of the Companys historic and modern records. Youll be supervising researchers, cataloguing Archive material, responding to enquiries, developing the CALM system and developing innovative initiatives to raise the profile of the Archive team and historic material held.The successful candidate will: Have a postgraduate qualification in archives management and a successful track record of using descriptive and authority standards (eg. ISAD(G) and Spectrum) Have excellent and demonstrable palaeographic skills Have previous experience of using and developing the CALM archive software Have proven ability to research information and explain complex material, Have previous experience of developing communication and education/outreach plans Have experience of working in a records management context Have previous experience of implementing, and creating a digitisation programme Have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal politely and confidently with all users of the Archive Have the ability to work independently using initiative to organise work activity and priorities to meet deadlines and deputise for the Archive Manager on occasionsThis is an exciting opportunity to work for an ancient but ambitious city organisation, investing in opportunities to create positive change and make a real difference to peoples lives.
