Adur & Worthing Councils have developed a strong strategic vision for sustainability within the Councils and for the area as a whole. The Strategic Sustainability Manager is a key driving force in the continued development of both our strategy and our delivery programme, which includes some highly innovative and exciting schemes.The role will provide strategic, place-based leadership and delivery on sustainability, including the development and delivery of policy and actions both within the organisation and more broadly with public, private and third sector organisations across Adur and Worthing.The role requires the post-holder to have expertise and a driving passion for sustainability and how it can help deliver thriving and efficient organisations and communities that are rooted in place, protecting and enhancing our shared environment.The role involves the identification, development and facilitation of networks and groups, able to design and deliver interventions internally and externally. The post-holder will have strong networking and group working skills, as well as technical expertise. It is a leadership role, but also requires strong project management and delivery skills to deliver key projects to completion.
