PwCs Central Technology team (Tech Connect) is responsible for identifying and deploying innovative AI use cases for PwC and its clients. We use machine learning and natural language processing to build data-driven solutions which solve important problemsacross our organisation.We work across industries, including healthcare, financial services and professional services to develop their Machine Learning capabilities. Were currently looking for experienced Senior Developers. Senior Developers are a mainstayof product teams and are expected to have prior experience using modern, agile software development practices. They will take responsibility for the design and development of applications, writing and maintaining efficient code. They will work closely withproduct managers and architects to determine technical effort required for product features and be able to efficiently estimate and break work down into vertical slices. Senior Developers have a quality first mindset, ensuring they create efficient unit testsand work alongside testers to create rapid feedback loops. Although design and coding practices are a focal point of the role, developers will be expected to have T-shaped skills, being able to turn their hands to the practicalities of testing, support anddeployment. A Senior Developer will always look for ways to improve the efficiency of engineering practices, through methods such as pair programming, continual refactoring and feature toggling Senior Developers will not be afraid to explore new ways of workingfor the team to increase quality, stability and cadence of delivery.A Senior Developer works within product teams to: Design and develop high quality products using modern engineering practices Introduce techniques to ensure that high quality code can be deliveredquickly and efficiently through automation and modern software engineering practices and tools, such as: Effective branching strategies Efficient, lean test automation frameworks Utilising automated code scanning tools Providing quick effective quality feedbackEnsure support items are rapidly triaged and managed Work with DevOps engineers and test engineers to embed practices in the team which enable consistent, predictable, fully tested deployments Directly lead and mentor developers and test engineers on all ofthe above What skills they need Strong understanding of ServiceNow Best practices Core table structures Common SN APIs and Script Includes Scoped applications and SN store applications/plugins, including application upgrades How inbound and outbound web services(specifically REST) work within ServiceNow Good understanding of Javascript and related technologies NodeJS NPM Specifically ECMAScript 2017, and particularly Promises and async/await Good understanding of web service architecture REST Asynchronous APIs Understandingof Google Cloud development Google Cloud Projects Google Chat API and chatbot functionality within Google Chat Google Authentication, specifically Service Accounts Google App Engine Google Cloud SDK Experience of Dialogflow or similar NLP / Experience of developingchatbots Experience using Git, Azure DevOps and VS Code Experience of NodeJS Not the role for youDid you know PwC offer flexible contract arrangements as well as contingent work (ie temporary or day rate contracting)The skills we look for in future employeesAllour people need to demonstrate the skills and behaviours that support us in delivering our business strategy.
