We currently employ seven Science teachersand have eight fully resourced new laboratories built to high specification,which are all on the same floor. The successful candidate will be an individual whoideally has experience in coordinating the use and maintenance of practicalscience resources and facilities as well as providing assistance and advice inmeeting the practical needs of the science curriculum. You will be responsible for preparing resources,chemicals and other materials for class practicals, carrying out maintenancechecks, arranging for repairs as necessary, coordinating and organising theinventory of equipment and stock control and undertaking stock checks. Candidatesneed to be adept at liaising with equipment providers to ensure good qualityprovision, as well as academic staff to discuss timetables, equipmentrequirements and work plans. Previous experience in a Science Technician role ina school environment is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude andcalm manner with the ability to organise, prioritise and deal with a demandingworkload is vital. You will be an excellent communicator and have aprofessional approach. Candidates will be a confident and competent user of ICT(Word, Excel and Email). There will be opportunities to attend CPDs such asattending technician meetings/conferences to enhance skills and share goodpractice.
