Job Description

Residential childrens Support Worker Worthing, Redhill and Henfield £20,450- £24,450 DOE and sleep ins The company: My client is a nationwide company looking for enthusiastic support workers wanting to make a difference to childrens lives. They have many fostering, residential, and educational settings around the country and their child-centred approach empowers children and families to access a safe and fulfilling future. The successful candidate will able to work as part of a team in order to support and implement the development of the children and the home in which you will be based and be a supportive an effective member of the company. You will need to ensure positive participationin the companys internal training scheme REACH. Key Roles: To ensure that the young peoples needs are recognized and met. This includes ensuring that they are free from discrimination within the home and to challenge discrimination from outside the home. To protect the young people from harm in and outside the home. To assist the management in the home in compliance with OFSTED, legislation, and the ethos and policies of the company.To exercise responsible control over the children to ensure their safety and wellbeing and to assist them in developing acceptable standardsof personal hygiene and behaviour. This also applies to encouraging children to abide by house rules and principles. To participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of the individual young peoples care plans. In accordance with plans forthe day, to organise and supervise recreational and leisure activities both in and out of the home to provide the children with an interesting and stimulating life. This includes being prepared to spend time away from home on holidays and at camps etc. Tobe familiar with and follow the Local Authority Child Protection Procedures and Compass Childrens Homes team Safer Caring and Child Protection Procedures . All information coming to the knowledge of staff must in the first instance be reported immediatelyto the Registered Manager or Senior Residential Worker. To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, social workers, schools and other professionals concerned with the welfare of the young people. To use the home as a model to supportand develop the social skills of the young people. To ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of young people being looked after. To ensure that the home meets the needs of the individual young people and theneeds of the group. To maintain a good understanding of child protection and safeguarding proceduresTo care for children when they are ill and, where necessary, administer medicines, drugs and treatment under the guidance of the childs medical practitioner.
