Job Description

Majestic Wine is looking for a Regional Manager to join our Retail Field The South West Team!Are you a dynamic individual who wants to grow and develop in a company thats revolutionising retailDo you have strong leadership skills, being able to influence, with an ability to build strong relationships across the businessIf you have answered yes to these questions, Majestic Wine would be delighted to hear from you!The RoleReporting to the Divisional Director of the South, you will be accountable for building and maintaining a Region of high performing & engaged Store teams. Maximising sales, managing costs to budget and delivering operational excellence throughout theRegion is at the heart of the role. The Regional Manager should be the first point of contact for their Area Manager & Store Managers within the Region helping them lead their team to successfully deliver the overall business plan.Key Responsibilities:

  • Exceeding Regional Sales target & delivering key performance indicators in line with the business plan.
  • Leadership responsibility for your direct reports, to include objective setting (KPIs), motivating, coaching and monitoring
  • Use data and regular store visits to identify underperforming stores, build and execute a plan with the Area and Store Managers to improve performance
  • Driving performance and providing regular feedback on regular store visits & supporting Engagement of colleagues throughout the Region.
  • Help your store managers problem-solve and address any issues they escalate to you to maintain the best possible customer experience
  • Analysing the performance of each store, using reporting from Tableau as well as their own in store observations to put in place the right actions to support the Plan.
  • Training the Store Manager, helping them to create their own plans and reinforcing the right customer behaviours.
  • Rewarding those who demonstrate the right behaviours, while focusing development on those who dont with clear and transparent talent mapping and reviews.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with all key Support Centre teams.
  • Work collaboratively with The HRBPs to build and maintain a strong succession plan
  • Accountable for the performance and development of their Area Manager.
  • Full P&L responsibility for all stores in region
  • Keeping all regional costs in line with or below budget
  • Full H&S responsibility for the Region
Knowledge & Skills Required:
  • Strong leadership skills, being able to influence, with an ability to build strong relationships across the business.
  • Strong team building skills, coupled with excellent organisational and motivational ability.
  • Works at pace, demonstrates resilience, passion, energy and a can-do attitude.
  • A creative thinker, with a common sense approach to problem-solving and the ability to develop creative and effective solutions to business challenges.
  • Ambitious and results-driven, with a flexible approach
  • Attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experienced and driven retail leader with at 5+ years retail leadership experience
  • Sound business acumen and personal gravitas
  • Proven track record of retail sales achievement via KPIs
  • Highly organised, with a strategic commercial outlook
  • Self-starter and keen to take initiative
  • Great presentation skills
  • Industry knowledge is highly desirable
  • Clean driving licence
  • WSET desirable but not required
