Job Description

Our Client is a leading speciality distributor and exclusive UK representative of major manufacturers of raw materials to the Personal Care and Cosmetic Industries.They are now seeking a Regional Account Manager - Personal Care & Cosmetic Ingredients. This position will be a home based technical sales role with regular travel. Candidates will ideally be based in the South / South East UK. This position is a full-time permanent role.Job PurposeThe primary function of the Regional Account Manager (South) is to maximise Personal Care sales, increase the customer base and develop new markets in the South / South East of the UKKey ResponsibilitiesExternal Sales & Business Development activity:

  • The Regional Account Manager will promote and sell the complete range of products and services to both existing and new customers via customer visits, email & telephone as appropriate
  • Travel as and when required within the territory, to head office and overseas
  • Take full responsibility for own accounts, acting as a key point of contact between the company and its customers by answering technical and commercial enquiries
  • Develop and nurture opportunities for the product range within the territory, including introducing new products or Principals
  • Confidently and proactively contact customers to provide technical / commercial information and convert to profitable sales.
  • Handle multiple enquiries and follow-ups simultaneously, with differing timescales and resolutions
  • Plan and execute as required: sales visits, product presentations, maintaining accurate records, attending trade exhibitions, conferences, sales meetings, and training
  • Internal Sales and Business Development activity:
  • Establish and implement sales plans for designated territory
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management database
  • Prepare reports, presentations, forecasts, and figures for internal and external use
  • Support Marketing activities, e.g., support the organisation of seminars, webinars etc.
  • Undertake professional development training when appropriate
  • Qualifications and Experience
  • Science graduate or equivalent
  • Some Sales experience in the Cosmetic / Personal Care Industry is preferable but consideration will be given to a current Cosmetic / Personal Care Chemist looking to expand their horizons and use their formulation experience in a commercial environment
  • Experience in delivering sales growth in cosmetic / chemical markets
  • Experience of working within a technical environment
  • Candidate must be an excellent communicator and team player, personable, well organized, able to self-motivate
  • Candidate should be comfortable with the volume of travelling that is required to cover the territory
  • Comprehensive business acumen and commercial experience
  • Friendly, efficient customer service attitude both face to face and via the phone or online
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable and confident when presenting to customers and colleagues
  • The ability to listen and interpret customer needs
  • Forward-thinking & proactive attitude to problem solving
  • Located within the South / South East of UK.
  • Fluent in English, in both verbal and written communication
  • Proficient at Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Full UK driving licence
