Job Description

A main contractor is recruiting a Project Manager to join the Projects Division who are currently mobilising a team for a £100m project on the South West. The business delivers projects up to £2.6bn in utilities for governing bodies and private sector clientsas well as some of the UKs most prestigious utilities projects like AMP37 and MEICA.The Project Manager role will be based on a £100 million project on the Somerset/ Bristol set border and will work on the project from the design stages to handover.The project is currently in the design stage and compromises of building a new Tidal Barrier. The scope of works will consist of improving existing downstream riverside flood banks and the construction of new secondary flood banks, whilst also improvingthe fish and eel passage.Project Manager duties include:

  • Management of the commercial team with site change control and ensuring all cost, value and change control is captured in line with the contract
  • Management of subcontractors and site personnel
  • Ensure the correct RAMS, Construction Phase Plans and H&S documentation are in place prior to work commencing
  • Develop and manage the programme to ensure that critical deadlines and budgets are met
  • Demonstrate value engineering throughout the delivery
  • Manage documentation for quality assurance and Health and Safety files
  • Chair monthly progress meetings with clients and stakeholders
  • Act as representative for the business at all times.
  • Ensure timely and profitable delivery of projects in your remit
  • Manage a team of Site Agents, Sub Agents and Engineers
