Job Description

Practice Accountant Portishead Bristol £30,000 to £40,000 per annum d.o.eClient friendly Accountant for thriving Accountancy Practice in Portishead, BristolThe RoleWorking in this busy Accountancy Business, you will deliver tax, accountancy & VAT services, adding your personal touch, to a range of South West based small business clients. Taking a leading role in the preparation of final accounts for small business clients your responsibilities will include:

  • preparing accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies
  • production of trial balance, balance sheets and profit and loss accounts
  • preparing Self Assessment tax returns / calculating income tax liabilities
  • supervising VAT returns, bookkeeping and payroll
  • preparing corporation tax returns / calculating corporation tax liabilities
  • ensuring compliance with companies accounts disclosure requirements
  • managing a portfolio of SME clients / tax planning / advice etc.
  • forecasting work / managing client portfolio / answering queries

They support a diverse range of small businesses including start-ups, sole traders, limited companies and landlords who operate across a wide variety of business sectors. The office environment is relaxed and friendly, they are a close-knit team with a good sense of humour and a focus on client care.The PersonAs Practice Accountant, you will have proven accounts / taxation experience within a smaller size practice. You will be either AAT / ACCA / ACA qualified - or qualified by experience. You must have a good working knowledge of accounts preparation / computations of taxes with the ability to hit the ground running and assist with complex accountancy related tasks. Able to work unsupervised to strict deadlines you will also have:
  • ability to develop strong client / colleague relationships
  • exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • high focus on customer service
  • strong IT skills
