Job Description

Personal Advisor - Part-time - Leaving Care Team£12.66 - South West EnglandA local authority in the South West of England are seeking an experienced locum part-time Personal Advisor (PA) for their Leaving Care team. This post will be covering a maternity and will span over a 1 year contract.The role involves supporting young people (aged 16-25) who are living in care or leaving care. You will be playing a crucial part in assisting young people with developing independence. Personal Advisors in this local authority manage their own caseload,organise work activities, and undertake statutuory responsibilities.To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Direct work experience with young people, families and carers
  • Experience implementing service plans based on assessed needs
  • Knowledge of the Children Act and Leaving Care Act
  • A flexible approach to working hours
  • Own licence and vehicle - Travelling around the county is required.
They can offer:
  • £12.66 an hour.
  • Part-time opportunity - covering 3 days per week.
  • Statutory experience that can be implemented in your future career. Ideal if you would like to become a social worker at a later date. You will be holding a caseload of around 20 young people.
  • Long term contract - Giving you some job stability for the next year!
