We provide news, analysis, debateand specialist guides about an area of law that is underreported and oftenpoorly understood by the popular press. GAR reports on claims brought byinvestors against foreign governments, big-ticket commercial disputes betweenmultinationals, and politically sensitive state-to-state disputes such asboundary conflicts. These cases take place outside national courts and oftenout of the public eye. We also report on the community of practitioners andarbitrators who handle these cases, tracking their professional moves.We are looking for a News Reporterto join our experienced and close-knit team. This is an exciting opportunity todevelop your journalism skills within an international organisation working ona global scale. What would you be doingWe are looking for intellectuallycurious individuals who can research and write news and other content to a highdegree of accuracy. Relying on legal documents, regulatory filings and accessto the best sources in the field, you will craft news stories in a style andtone that cuts through jargon and spin to deliver a satisfying read to anexpert audience. You will mainly be writing newsstories to daily deadlines but will also be expected to assist on largerresearch projects and other signature annual surveys, all under the directionof the editor. You will need to be highlyliterate and able to absorb complex legal decisions, find the news angle withinthem, and turn them into readable stories at short notice. You will also needto network with professional contacts and cultivate sources so as to obtainreliable information on under-the-radar and otherwise confidential disputes. A background in law orprofessional writing experience is preferred.
