The mainresponsibility is to supervise the children during meal times to ensure theyare enjoying a nutritiouslunch in a safe and happy environment. The role alsoinvolves putting out dining tables, a cutlery set and beakers in time forthe start of the lunch period, ensuring there are sufficient settings for thenumber of pupils eating that day. The role may also requiresome cleaning inthe dining hall. To work as a lunchtime supervisor,the following skills are desirable: enjoyment of working withchildrenpatiencethe ability to staycalmgood communicationskillsthe ability to work as part of ateamLunchtime supervisors must alsobeaware of responsibilities under child protection legislation (training will beprovided) and report any safeguarding concerns to the head teacher.
