Location: South West England Region (hybrid role working between home and office)Hours per week: 35Contract: PermanentAs a Media Officer with the British Red Cross, youll ensure that audiences understand our work with people in crisis and our impact in the UK and around the world.Right now, we are front and centre of the response to the Ukraine crisis in the UK and globally. But your areas of interest and eye for a powerful story will go far beyond that.You could find yourself working with journalists and Red Cross colleagues on anything from global emergencies and natural disasters, to protracted conflicts, chronic hunger and climate change, not just as it relates to other countries but how it affects theUK too.As well as helping people to prepare for, survive and rebuild after a crisis, you will be highlighting health inequality and the migration, displacement and refugee issues that we care about too. What you will be doingAs a Media Officer, you will be part of a busy press office working in the news team, under the direction of the UK Media Manager. You will be delivering time sensitive media work on some of the biggest stories of our time, working alongside our social media,PR, advocacy teams and fundraising teams. You will be working on both fast-paced media responding to world events and proactively driving the news agenda to our key issues.
