Job Description

Locum Education & SEN LawyerRemote Workingup to £55 per hour UmbrellaHome CountiesVenn Groups specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Education & SEN Lawyer to join an excellent Local Authority in the Home Counties area. This assignment will be for an initial period of at least 3-6 months and issubject to possible extension thereafter.The role will be performed on a remote working basis and the Authority are ideally seeking someone to take on the position on a full-time basis, however candidates with part-time availability possessing relevant experience will be considered.The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive with Local Government experience with solid understanding of a wide range of Education and SEND matters. Previous experience needed includes:

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply and interpret SEN and Education Law
  • Knowledge of SEN court and tribunal procedures
  • Knowledge of Local Government law, especially in relation to, Education law, Judicial Review and FOI/ DPA
  • Experience of conducting case files, drafting pleadings and witness statements
  • Ability to conduct legal research, interpret legislation and summarise the key points of case law
