Job Description

Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – Midlands – 3 months – Part Time – Hybrid Working – Up to £60 per hour UmbrellaAre you a Commercial Property Lawyer in the Midlands looking for a new part time Locum role, working within Local GovernmentPosition: Locum Commercial Property LawyerOrganisation: Local Authority based in the MidlandsDuration: 3 months initial contract with the likelihood of extension following thisWorking Pattern: Part time position for around 16-21 hours per weekWorking Arrangement: This role will ideally be hybrid working, with office attendance one day per week and the remaining hours can be fulfilled remotely, however candidates seeking entirely remote working roles are also encouraged to applyHourly Rate: Up to £60 per hour Umbrella, however this hourly rate is subject to relevant experienceCandidate Requirements:To be successful for this position you will require experience handling a busy caseload ofcommercial property matterswithin aLocal Government background, and can handle a busy caseload with no supervision.Duties for this role may include:

  • Negotiating and advising upon a wide range of commercial property matters including drafting various documents such as leases, licences, easements and deeds
  • Responsible for representing the Council’s clients and negotiating with third parties on any commercial property related matters
  • Ensuring that all legal property matters relevant to the Council’s property portfolio are handled and are in compliance with applicable legislation
  • Looking for opportunities to develop the Council’s property portfolio and negotiate any new agreements for both leasehold and freehold properties
  • Supporting the legal department predominantly on land and property matters as well as any other legal related matters as and when required
