Job Description

Wellington College is one of the worlds leading co-educational boarding and day schools and has an enviable reputation for excellence and innovation, located in rural Berkshire in a stunning 400 acre campus. We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicatedHousekeeper to join our Domestics Department.You will join on a part time (26 hours in term time and 28 hours during school holidays per week), permanent basis and in return we will offer you a competitive salary and benefits package which includes a freelunch whilst on duty, subsidised membership to the Wellington Health & Fitness Club, contribution to Wellingtons personal pension scheme, Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced Maternity / Paternity scheme, cycle to work scheme, free parking and access toa health cash plan.About the role:The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring that the Domestic standards of the allocated boarding house are maintained and that pupil laundry and bed linen is prepared for collection. They will also assist and provide coverfor the House Matron as required.The Domestic Services Department is essential to the smooth running of the College, ensuring that all areas of the College are cleaned and maintained safely and to the highest standard. The Department is comprised of Cleaning,Housekeeping, House Matron, Laundry and Logistical Services staff members and constantly strives to achieve excellence in its service provision.Key responsibilities: Ensure pupils laundry and bed linen is assembled for collection and sorted upon its returnif required. Retain records of all items sent to the laundry and for external dry cleaning Ensure all house and pupil articles are clearly marked or labelled. Take reasonable steps to minimise loss or damage to property, staff and pupils. Ensure pupils adhereto college uniform policy as they leave for classes. Work with the cleaning staff to maintain standards in house. Replenish cleaning material and equipment stock Assist with pastoral care to the pupils whilst the House Matron is off duty Issue non-prescriptivedrugs and refer pupils to the Medical Centre if required Maintain open communication with the House Matron and handover important information at 10.30am Access the college computer system to send and receive e-mails and to ensure any maintenance work requestedare recorded on the College Collegiate System Input information onto ISAMS, our academic database Monitor access for college visitors including contractors to the house Attend meetings as required Attend training courses as identified Comply with all Companypolicies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH.
