Head of Operations - Bioresearch Reagents & ToolsLocation: Flexible - Our head office is in Stratford but we can consider candidates within the UK. We are able to offer sponsorship to eligible candidates and welcome international candidates.Salary range: £80-£100k dependent on experienceThe Head of Operations opening is an exciting opportunity to help take Ximbio and the Charity to the next level in our Global Non-Profit BioReagents Business.We currently source thousands of academic research tools from more than 165 institutions on 6 continents that can be found at This follows on from more than 40 years of managing and providing reagents to both academic and for-profit laboratories around the world.Our next phase of growth will require we upgrade our systems, expand our production, repository and logistics capabilities, as well as augment our direct-to-customer interface. For this challenging position and career opportunity, this will also mean adding a sister e-commerce site to Ximbio focused on research tools for the global cancer research community in an international collaborative non-profit with professional cancer research societies, government cancer research agencies and other cancer research charities and foundations.We are looking for candidates with a mix of operations acumen in the research tools space, a strong digital sales, logistics and supply chain background and the experience of producing, selling and delivering antibodies, cell lines, mouse models and other research materials to scientists, with a goal to join our Mission of providing a single, web-based, non-profit source of all the bioresearch tools from academia that cancer researchers worldwide need in one place.We welcome your inquiry into this unique and exciting opportunity to join our passionate Ximbio Team.Candidates with the following skills & experience are encouraged to apply: Educated to degree level in a life science or life science engineering discipline Practical and/or commercial knowledge of the application of research tools consumables such as hybridomas, antibodies, transgenic mice, cell lines and small molecule tool compounds in academic and commercial research environments Logistics background in a life science reagents or biotech/pharma (or similar organisation) role, or experience of commercial life science Production and/or biorepository experience with research tools, primarily antibodies and cell lines.
