Head of ITRobert Half Technology are recruiting exclusively for a Head of IT to work for AJ & RG Barber Ltd - a cheese manufacturer based in Shepton Mallet. So, when it comes to combining the finest West Country milk with traditionalmanufacturing methods to produce award-winning cheese, theres no one better.Whilst relying on their expert instincts of their cheesemakers to ensure their product is the highest quality it can be, they also have embraced technology & innovation to adapt with an ever-changing world. This extends into their IT infrastructure on sitein Shepton Mallett, the successful candidate will be instrumental in migrating the business to M365 whilst adopting wider cloud solutions as well as the training and development of an IT Operations function.RoleThe Head of IT is a role that is key in helping the business to grow to the next level. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of IT Operations/Helpdesk whilst helping to define IT strategy and roadmap the journey to cloud adoption. By placingend user requirements and operational practices at the heart of the IT service, the IT Infrastructure Manager will ensure that the investment made in IT is realised through maximising the resources in terms of the people, their processes and the technologyused.Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the IT Operations/Support team
• Ensure IT staff have the vision, tools, and training to successfully maintain and improve our systems
• Deliver the IT Strategy and roadmap for cloud adoption (M365).
• Implement service standards, developing common systems and processes based on industry best practice
• Provide advanced technical support across Barber infrastructure
• Create, document and implement robust and practical IT Infrastructure processes
• Proactively monitor and analyse IT system availability and performance
• Ensure that all IT systems and applications are correctly installed and configured
• Ensuring IT systems and applications are running in line with the needs of the organisation

Your ProfileYou are a highly motivated, proven IT Infrastructure Manager looking to take on the ownership and responsibility for the Barber infrastructure estate. You should be practical with a positive can-do mentality. You must be willing to offer solutions and beable to challenge effectively to gain the best outcomes. You will be able to personally shape the IT team and technical environment in years to comes, facilitate business improvement and deliver programmes of work which are instrumental to the organisationssuccess.Personal Attributes

Technical Skills/Experience

• Multiple sites infrastructure management
• Experience of Office 365 admin support including exchange hybrid installations. (O365 Licensing platforms, Azure, Intune, etc.
• Microsoft server 2012 and 2016 installation, configuration, and support.
• Knowledge and experience with SAN technologies.
• AD, DHCP, DNS, Configuration and support.
• SonicWall firewall configuration and support.
• Switch config and support (Vlans, Trunking etc)
• Wireless AP configuration and support.
• SQL server support, Configuration.
• PowerShell - or command line tools
• Software deployment tools such as PDQ
• Windows Client support Windows 7 through to Windows 11.
• Support of Mobile devices Android/ Apple.
• Cisco Meraki support and config (for the scanner guns).
• SonicWall hosted email security.
• Good overall administration skills to include change controls.

Personal Skills

• Minimum 5 years experience leading an I.T. Team.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with 3rd party support companies and Vendors
• Ability to mentor Internal I.T. department employees including apprentices.
• Project Management - with focus of minimising downtime.
• Building road maps for I.T. that can be read and understood at all technical levels. In the long term focusing on the transition into cloud-based computing.
• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience of working to ITIL methodology.
• Ability to support and work with users from all levels of technical knowledge
