HETAS have an opening for a Head of Environmental Development. This is a newly established role and therefore provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development as our business continues to expand into the wider market. This is a strategic and technical role, and the ideal candidate will possess a passion for environmental protection alongside the confidence to lead in the technical and scientific areas of associated environmental issues. This role will be based at our offices in Tewkesbury with opportunities to work from home when required.This role sits within our Senior Management team which will involve working closely with the Board of Directors. The primary function will be to lead on areas of work that have an environmental impact such as particulate emissions, carbon emissions and sustainability. The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively will be key as you will be liaising with key stakeholders, government departments, various partner organisations alongside staff and managers at all levels across the business.Key result areas and main responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Managing and supporting the technical standards and product approval activities of HETAS. Identifying pragmatic ways for the organisation to mitigate environmental impact through research, action and policies. Influencing stakeholders to ensure an understanding of solid/biomass fuels and how they can be utilised whilst reducing environmental impact. Establishing and maintaining relevant and up to date expertise respected and valued by others. Identifying new opportunities for HETAS and Woodsure, including tendering opportunities and the bid process where applicable.
