A Graduate Chemist is required to join an international speciality chemicals company at their facility based in Bristol/North Somerset. If you possess a degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering (or related subject), and a strong interest/experience in formulation chemistry this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading R&D department and play a key role in future product development. On a day to day basis you will support the Industrial Team as required to meet market needs and to enact Company Strategy and your duties will include: * Product evaluation and testing of raw material samples * Formulation manipulation and optimisation * Product & raw material rationalisation * Manufacturing support * Safety evaluations * Manufacture of small quantities of coatings in the laboratory * Communication and reporting of results on the relevant systems * Ensuring consumables are replenished and maintaining laboratory equipment To be considered for this opportunity you will need to possess a degree level qualification in Chemical Engineering (or related subject) and should have a sound knowledge of standard laboratory practices backed-up with strong practical skills. You will also need to be a well-organised and thorough individual who understands how individual work is planned and project work is prioritised. You should also possess good and clear communications skills and have the ability to build effective working relationships with other functions within the company. You will be flexible with the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative and be able to positively contribute to the performance of the Research & Development Team. If you possess experience working in a commercial laboratory environment carrying out formulation chemistry-based work activities this will be desirable.
