Start Date: 1st September 2021 Pay: NJC payscale D2 point 4-11 depending onexperience An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committedand enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our dynamic Keystage 2 team atHorsted School, Chatham. We are looking for someone who is passionate aboutworking with children and dedicated to helping support them in their learning.The successful applicant will be expected to support learning in class underthe direction of the class teacher; plan for, resource, deliver and monitorintervention groups; and provide cover for teaching staff should the occasionarise. The post is term time only, 28.33 hours a week,8:30-3:10 Monday - Friday. Pay is on NJC salary scale D2 points 4 - 11depending on experience. There may be opportunity for the successful applicantto cover teaching staff at which point, pay will, for the cover time, move toNJC salary scale C2 points 12 - 25 pro rata. Previous experience is anadvantage. The initial contract is fixed term and will have anend date of 22 July 2022 Essential qualities & skills: An individual who has the ability to enthuseand motivate childrenA commitment to the highest standardsof learningRelevant and recent experience of working in aschool, preferably in Key Stage 2An ability to communicate, work as part of asuccessful team, take on board advice, use their initiative and meetdeadlinesAn individual who is organised, efficient and flexiblein their approachA good level of English, maths (at least NVQ level2 or Grade C GCSE/ O level) and a willingness to furtherprofessional development Proficiency in the use of ICT Current knowledge of SEND is desirablePlease note that these posts are subject to anEnhanced DBS and receipt of 2 good references.
