Job Description

Role- Design Authority/ Staff Principal Antenna EngineerSalary- £65,000 – 100,000 per annum + 15% bonus + Share SchemeRelocation Package AvalibleType- PermanentThe Design Authority/ Staff Principal Antenna Engineer will ideally have the following Skills:

  • A minimum of an HND in Electronic Engineering.
  • An excellent understanding of antenna theory, phased array principles, and electronically steerable arrays.
  • 10 years minimum experience of designing Antennas for volume manufacturing.
  • Experience in antenna design from 1-6GHz a MUST , desirable up to 60GHz
  • Expert user of simulation tools such as ADS and CST/HFSS.
  • An excellent understanding of impacts of Antenna performance on Transmitters and Receivers.
  • Able to demonstrate a history of novel antenna designs that have had a disruptive impact on cost, performance, or both.
  • An excellent understanding of RF printed circuit boards layout techniques.
  • Familiarity of schematic capture packages such as Cadence CIS.
  • An excellent understanding of Regulatory requirements on antenna performance.
  • Experience of maintaining and using an Anechoic chamber for internal design proving and development.
  • In addition, flexibility is a key requirement in this small company; all employees are expected to undertake other tasks as the situation demands. In particular, engineering staff are expected to help out with system testing, on-site equipment trials, etc.
    • The Design Authority / Staff Principal Antenna Engineer role will involve:
  • Capture design requirements and provide written specifications.
  • Detailed Antenna Design.
  • Define DVT testing required and oversea its implementation, review results and drive appropriate design improvements.
  • Run design reviews as part of Gate driven development process.
  • Readying designs for production, defining Calibration requirements and generating test specifications.
  • Training production test personnel and the production support engineering team in the faultfinding of Antenna hardware with occasional factory visits abroad.
  • Coaching/Mentoring Junior members of the Global Antenna team.
