The Lowry is an internationally acclaimed cultural landmark situated at the heart of MediaCityUK, one of the worlds most exciting culture and media destinations.The Lowrys Visual Arts Team is a small and busy department, working in a dynamic cross-artsvenue, which is responsible for a programme of contemporary exhibitions, often working with visual and performing artists, and Salfords LS Lowry Collection.We are recruiting for a Curator of contemporary exhibitions and projects, working in both physicaland digital environments, who would oversee all aspects of an exhibitions development, from research and development through to realisation and evaluation, while addressing the needs of The Lowrys target visitors. You will be required to liaise with artistsand their representatives, institutions and stakeholders.This is a new post which reflects The Lowrys commitment to strengthening its visual arts programme by diversifying the artists we work with and the audiences we engage with; developing new ideas andmethodologies; and ensuring we are well placed to respond to new challenges and imperatives.The successful candidate will have experience of curating/producing contemporary exhibitions and projects and also have proven experience in coordinating exhibitionloans and working with artists/producers.
