Job Description

Our client is currently looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team and grow new business across the South West. This is an excellent opportunity to work with an innovative portfolio of soft tissue solutions.The companyOur client is a medical technology company focused on innovating new tissue reinforcement materials to address the unmet needs in soft tissue reconstruction. They focus on developing advanced and cost-effective solutions, collaborating with healthcare providersto improve clinical outcomes and empower patient care.The roleAs Business Development Manager, you’ll drive product usage in operating theatres to achieve and exceed sales targets across the territory. You will effectively market our client’s product portfolio, utilising a consultative approach to surgeons, and prospectiveand existing customers.Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing the business within the assigned territory
  • Implementing robust and effective account plans
  • Ensuring delivery to agreed timescales against KPIs
  • Supporting surgeons and nurses in theatre with an extremely high level of product and clinical knowledge
  • Building strong and lasting relationships with relevant customers
  • Maintaining a level of IT competence and utilising relevant reporting systems
  • Ensuring that quality service is experienced by the customer base
The requirements You will have at least 2 years of experience working in a field-based surgical sales role.Other requirements include:
  • Degree level educated, ideally BSc
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Strong network across the South West of general surgeons, theatre staff and procurement
  • Experience in selling biological or synthetic meshes
  • Patient focused with a high degree of integrity
  • Ability to process complex scientific information and apply this in conversation with clinical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated, methodical, and able to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • A hunter mindset with the desire to over-achieve
  • Able to forge strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders
  • Flexible and willing to work long hours, when necessary, with occasional weekends
  • Full clean driving licence
