Job Description

Our Client is a fast-growing speciality Manufacturer and Distributor of raw materials to the UK Pharmaceutical, Fine Chemical, Agrochemical and Veterinary markets.They are now seeking a Business Manager - Pharmaceutical Ingredients for their Life Science Division. This position will be home based and location within the UK is flexible. The geographical territory is the UK. This position is a full-time permanent role and will report to the Division ManagerJob Purpose

  • To further develop and maintain a profitable and sustainable Business Unit in the Pharmaceutical Ingredients Division
  • The Business Manager will develop long term business relationships with Key Customers
  • The role holder will create unique and compelling sales propositions via the distribution of APIs, excipients, drug delivery systems and formulation ingredients
  • The Business Manager will identify and capitalise on new opportunities in order to grow their business unit. They will also promote the opportunities for customers to work with Manufacturing services
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Sales
  • Develop Key accounts
  • Build opportunities
  • Create new active sales projects
  • Drive gross margin for the business unit
  • Manage existing accounts portfolio
  • Establish strong, long-term client relationships
  • Communicate with major customers on a regular basis and respond to specific queries
  • Suggest solutions and innovative ideas to meet customer needs
  • Act as the liaison between key customers and internal teams
  • Identify and approach new potential strategic customers
Manufacturer Relationships
  • Develop relationships with suppliers of all key product groups
  • Obtain marketing information
  • Ensure adequate UK stock
  • Communicate with supplier partners (reports, sales figures, market information, product development)
  • Cultivate new supplier partners
Qualifications and Experience
  • Educated to degree level / equivalent
  • Knowledge of the UK and global pharmaceutical pipeline, specifically in APIs, excipients, drug delivery systems and formulation markets
  • Solid sales experience in a B2B environment
  • Proven experience as a Business Manager / Account Manager in the Chemical Distribution Industry is desirable
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Business acumen to attract and develop new supplier partners
  • Experience of using CRM software and MS Office
  • Solution seeking attitude
  • Demonstrates drive, a growth mindset, and a team player approach
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
