Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst Hours: 37Pay: £40,927 per annumType: Permanent Location: Portishead & Weston (dual) Expected Start date: ASAPAre you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for process improvement Do you enjoy analysing business requirements and developing effective solutions We have an exciting opportunity for you!We are searching for a talented Business Analyst to join our Business Change Team. In this role, you will support our digital transformation program and continuous improvement activities. Working closely with project managers and stakeholders, you will identify,analyse, and recommend business improvements, as well as facilitate communication between departments to ensure that our information technology aligns with the organisations needs.Key Duties:

  • Provide business analysis support for major projects and continuous improvement initiatives, from requirements gathering to implementation and measuring business improvements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to deliver projects and develop solutions.
  • Create design documents with detailed process maps, business requirements, data flows, and system interfaces.
  • Assist project managers in developing business cases by identifying drivers, costs, benefits, and impacts of proposed changes.
  • Design and facilitate workshops to engage staff, identify improvement opportunities, and understand root cause issues.
  • Utilise data modelling practices to analyse findings and generate recommendations for strategic and operational improvements.
  • Develop user stories and functional specifications to prioritise requirements based on business value.
  • Identify issues, risks, and benefits of existing and proposed solutions and communicate business impacts to project managers.
  • Analyse and validate requirements, effectively communicating them across stakeholder groups using appropriate modelling techniques.
  • Communicate, challenge, and influence stakeholders to gain ownership, involvement, and commitment.
  • Collaborate closely with the IT team to enhance business system knowledge, including systems architecture and interfaces.
  • Take responsibility for continuous professional development to stay up to date with business analysis best practices.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Extensive experience as a business analyst supporting the implementation of IT business-change projects and continuous improvement.
  • Process-driven mindset with a strong passion for process improvement.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and techniques such as Business Process Modelling and use case modelling.
  • Practical experience with waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a busy workload effectively.
  • Clear, concise, and professional communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and develop positive working relationships.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in a social housing context.
  • Formal business analysis qualifications (e.g., ISEB, BCS, CBAP) or actively working towards them.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
