With ample opportunity to build on CPD, your potential is limitless with us.Main Areas of ResponsibilityBehaviour for Learning To support the consistent implementation of the academy Behaviourfor Learning policy. To be responsible for the calm and purposeful entrance and exit of students into/out of the academy, this to include organising line-ups where appropriate. To work with the other members of the behaviour team as a unit to ensure studentsare monitored and supervised before school, during break and throughout lunch; To be responsible for calm and purposeful movement around the academy between lessons. Managing detentions every afternoon. To act as the liaison between the academy and the localcommunity (including the Police) for any aspect of behaviour issues arising during the academy day eg, truancy sweeps, liaising with local shopkeepers. Overseeing the entrance of students into the breakfast club in line with the agreed system; Ensuring thatstudents enter the building in full academy uniform and if not, following the agreed procedures; Ensuring that faculty points are awarded as appropriate; Ensuring that follow up action is taken for students failing to meet academy standards particularly outsidelessons; To design and deliver, in consultation with the academy Leadership Group, a variety of agreed enrichment and sporting activities making maximum use of the academy facilities. To follow through any issues to do with behaviour as required by the academyLeadership Group, for example, taking student statements regarding incidents and passing these on to relevant colleagues. To mentor students on PSPs, supporting successful achievement of targets and contributing to meetings/ reports in relation to studentprogress on PSP. This may include supporting in lessons as appropriate. To prepare students files for governors disciplinary panels or exclusion hearings. To present reports of students progress to PSP review meetings. To ensure that all issues that relateto student safety such as allegations of bullying are passed on to academy colleagues, in a timely manner, for further investigation as required. To liaise with the local community, including the Police, including dealing with incidents received by the academy,such as student identification, investigating incidents outside the academy, and ensuring that all statements/records are passed on to the relevant academy staff. To be responsible for supervising students internally excluded; To liaise with the AP for behaviourto deliver the curriculum offer for the students attending the exclusion centre and the re-integration back into mainstream lessons; To liaise with teaching staff to ensure appropriate work is set and appropriate provision is in place. To liaise with parents/carers and relevant APs and subject staff to ensure smooth transition to and from internal exclusion; To be responsible for maintaining a calm and purposeful learning environment; To follow-up on any truancy or attendance concerns; To reduce potential permanentexclusion by offering an alternative curriculum which includes rigorous behaviour for learning intervention.Management of Room To be a role model for the students in the Reflection unit. To provide the students with very clear expectations of conduct, in linewith those for all academy students; To ensure that follow up action is taken for students failing to meet academy code of conduct while internally excluded; To follow through any issues to do with behaviour as required by the academy Leadership Group, forexample, taking student statements regarding incidents and passing these on to relevant colleagues.Qualifications, Knowledge & Training GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent Knowledge of the academy behaviour for learning policy Knowledgeof the range of barriers to learning that students face Training in child protection and safeguarding procedures Basic knowledge of first aid; e.g. emergency first aid courseExperience Two years experience of working in an inner city school or educationalestablishment Experience of dealing successfully with a range of behaviour issues Experience of working with staff to ensure excellent behaviour for learning Experience of working with families Experience of supervising a group of students for detentions,referral and internal exclusion as appropriate Experience of working with challenging students and finding ways in which we can meet their needs more successfullyPersonal Skills & Qualities Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice Understandingof principles of student development and learning processes Ability to plan effective actions for pupils at risk of underachieving Effective use of ICT Understanding of a range of welfare issues that may be affecting students and their families. Well-developedinterpersonal skills to be able to relate well to a wide range of people Effectively manage students movement around the academy particularly during break and lunch times Work constructively as part of a team whilst being able to demonstrat
