Job Description

As a learning support assistant, you will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to the child throughout the school day. Your role will involve developing and implementing strategies to help the child manage their emotions and behaviour, as wellas supporting their academic progress across all subject areas.To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who possesses the following personality traits:

  • Patience: the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations is crucial when working with children who have additional needs. You must be able to provide a safe and nurturing environment where the child feels supported and valued.
  • Empathy: a strong sense of empathy and understanding is vital when working with a child who has autism and attachment issues. You must be able to connect with the child and understand their unique needs and challenges.
  • Resilience: a tenacious and determined approach to helping the child overcome any obstacles they may face is necessary to ensure their academic and personal success. You must be committed to providing ongoing support and encouragement, even when faced withsetbacks.
  • Flexibility: the ability to adapt and modify your approach based on the needs of the child is crucial. You must be able to work collaboratively with the childs teacher and other support staff to develop and implement effective strategies.
Working hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm. This is a full-time position, and the school is looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
