We need to take decisions based on meaningful insight and high-quality research. This is where you come in.About youAs a Public Health Analyst, youll be a key link between intelligence and action. Youll provide our senior leaders - including the Director of Public Health, our Corporate Leadership Team and our Cabinet - with insight into the health and wellbeing of our residents and communities, the factors that drive change and on what works in improving outcomes.Youll make sense of information from a variety of data sources, including Public Health England, the NHS and academic journals, drawing actionable insight to guide strategy development, commissioning decisions and operational activity. Youll monitor patterns of health and disease, health inequalities and their determinants within the Essex population. Your work will include COVID surveillance analysis, epidemiology and associated analytics, and deep-dive analysis on the long-term impact of COVID-19 in our population.Youll champion Public Health Intelligence and support the team in using data, evidence, and insight to land powerful conclusions with senior decision-makers across the local public health system.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceWere looking for people with proven technical ability and a range of analytical skills - data management and manipulation, visualisation and reporting; forecasting and mapping. You may have relevant qualifications or be qualified by experience - either way, youll use a variety of tools and methods to make sense of data. But we also need people who can communicate insights in a way thats compelling and easy to understand - using evidence to tell the story for senior decision-makers and stakeholders.
