We have been offering advice, support and guidance to people across Dorset since 2000. Our team is made up of legal specialists, community engagement workers, advice workers and we also have a DIY skills adviser who is able to offer practical support to people to improve their homes. Its a thriving place to work and wed love you to join the team.About the roleAs Advice, Support and Guidance Worker, you will work with the team to deliver housing advice and support to people across Dorset who are homeless or in bad housing. Most of your work will take place in the hub in Bournemouth, but you will also liaise with other members of the team to deliver a service in communities, therefore it will be essential to use all the resources in the team, referring cases to our DIY skills adviser, to colleagues for debt and welfare advice and, where legal representation is needed, you will refer cases to our legal team.We are happy to talk about flexible working, personal growth, and to promote a workplace where you can be yourself and achieve success based only on your merit.About youTo succeed, youll need relevant experience gained working within housing , debt or welfare benefit advice and within a safeguarding framework working with vulnerable people or those with multiple and complex needs. Well also be looking for a proven ability to work effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, both statutory and non-statutory. Proficiency using a range of IT tools to carry out your work, including case management systems, Microsoft Office applications, internet and email etc. is important too, with the ability to type preferred.
