Job Description

Job Role: Maintenance TechnicianLocation: South MoltonSalary: Upon ApplicationOur client, based in South Molton, is offering a fantastic opportunity for aMaintenance Technicianto join their businesson a permanent basis.Job SummaryProvide effective maintenance services across a diverse range of machining, casting, test and assembly facilities for an Aerospace manufacturing plant, to include, but not limited to installation, repair and preventative maintenance.Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct electrical/mechanical support activities on a wide range of CNC, manual and other specialist manufacturing equipment:
      • Undertake installation, maintenance and corrective repair work as required
      • Diagnose breakdown problems using test equipment and hand tools to locate the root cause of and instigate corrective action
      • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to reduce reactive work orders
      • Deal with emergency and unplanned problems and repairs
    • Maintain records and documentation as appropriate
    • Develop maintenance procedures and standard methods
    • Carry out quality, safety and functional inspections
    • Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
    • Keep up to date in technical developments and new product introduction
    • Contribute and support to safety and lean manufacturing initiatives (Lock out Tag out, TPM)
    • Ensure compliance with statutory and Eaton requirements at all times
Experience Required
  • Proven knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with additional experience of pneumatics and hydraulics, including a working knowledge of electrical
  • Proven experience of root cause and corrective action activities/tools
  • Determining the type of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
  • Considering the relative time, costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical and hydraulic schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively with minimal supervision in a high involvement, team orientated work atmosphere, effectively supporting the work activities of employees such as: area supervisor, engineer, quality control, peers, and customers
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends and any shift as needed
  • Looks objectively at every side of an idea or situation to ensure that all outcomes are thoroughly assessed before deciding on an appropriate course of action (Risk Assessments)
  • Sound administration skills with an understanding of the importance of paperwork and the accuracy and timeliness of submission of same
