Job Description

About Paragon Rapid Technologies:Over the last decade Paragon Rapid Technologies has grown year on year and has diversified into new products and services and into new markets. Having started with a focus on rapid prototyping, the company identified and took opportunities to add CNC Engineering and Additive Manufacturing (AM) business units to its product development and production support offering. Paragon is now at the forefront of additive manufacturing in the UK and continues to invest in the most up to date capital equipment to provide the platform for further successful and profitable growth.The Opportunity:With the progress that the company has achieved in AM and recent further investments in the business unit, Paragon has appointed Nigel Wright Recruitment as the retained partner for the search for a Business Development Manager to proactively take the AM offering to market. The role will be home based with a UK wide customer facing remit and periodic travel to the headquarters in County Durham in the North East of England.Role Profile:

  • Conducting proactive business development activities to identify new opportunities and engage with new prospective customers.
  • Undertaking a range of networking activities in the AM space up and down the supply chain to drive brand awareness and both company and personal name recognition within the industry.
  • Undertaking market mapping and segmentation activities to identify target prospects and relevant networks.
  • Utilising key leadership and technical team members as required to support the business development process and to achieve successful new contract wins.
  • Ensuring that there is a targeted sector approach such as with the key successes that the business has achieved thus far in the medical sector (particularly within prosthetics and orthotics).
  • Managing end to end sale cycles from initial engagement to contract agreement.
  • Person Specification:
  • Preferably from a technical / engineering background prior to progressing into a commercial / business development slanted role.
  • Previous experience within the additive manufacturing sector, or commercial experience in the medical sector (prosthetics / orthotics) with an understanding of how the additive manufacturing supply chain to the sector works.
  • A natural business development and networking inclination.
  • A track record of opening doors with new customers and accessing new markets.
  • Tech savvy and both comfortable and articulate delivering presentations to senior and board level decision makers.
  • Ideally based in South East of England, although the role will be UK wide and home based, so other UK locations will be considered.
