Job Description

Technical Business Development Manager - Passive Fire Protection£55K - £75K + Bonus + Benefits OTE £100K+London / South Howells are working with the one of the UKs most successful Passive Fire Contractors operating within the passive fire protection market, delivering fire door installation and fire compartmentation projects ranging from £1k to £2m. We are currently lookingto recruit a Technical Business Development to drive growth within Fire StoppingThe main purpose of the role is to engage with enquiries received by the business by visiting sites/clients to understand the scope of work to improve the companys conversion rate. You will focus on safeguarding the opportunity, tracking and pricing projectsand developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients.You will be targeting the healthcare, residential and education sectors, identifying new market opportunities and feedbackYou will have significant experience working within the Construction industry and have a good knowledge of passive fire protection (Fire Doors, Compartmentation) either from an operations or sales perspective.The key responsibilities of the Technical BDM will include:

  • Attain, grow and relationship manage clients
  • Ability to own and develop convincing bids to best position our business to achieve its growth aspirations
  • Gather and market and industry intelligence, metrics, and trends to interpret customer needs
  • Identify opportunities early in the sales cycle to ensure maximum market share within this key new product sector
  • Deliver business development-related presentations, negotiate, and close business with nominated accounts, working in coordination with location business development resources
  • Provide positive direction and representation of the business to the public, customers, and to serving on company project teams, conducting employee meetings and visiting work areas and interacting with employees
  • Represent the company at industry-wide exhibitions and seminars
  • Prepare and present at industry events/seminars
  • Own and develop the agreed market sector with key defined growth metrics
  • Interpretation of research to identify target customers by understanding their needs and whose forward plans, values and core purpose match our business plans
  • PQQ & Bid Management in collaboration with relevant internal departments
We are looking for the Technical BDM to have the following experience:
  • Experience selling and/or estimating fire-stopping products to the construction industry
  • Experience targeting dry lining contractors, specialist building envelope contractor, main contractors or sub-contractors
  • Ideally selling fire protection/fire resistant products/materials such as; fire doors, batts, fire resistant cavity barriers, fire collars and sealants
  • Ideally have in-depth knowledge of the passive fire protection market, applications, products and systems.
  • ASFP IFE Level 1, 2 & 3 Qualifications desirable.
  • Sompeone with the ability to develop technical knowledge of products quickly.
  • Should have solution-based sales approach, positive, professional and customer service orientated
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
