We are seeking a CCNP level Senior Network Engineer for an intial 6 month role with our client in London.The rate is between £400-425 p/d and its inside IR35.You will be joining a global team of networking professionals, who are based in the UK, US and New Zealand - you will be based in London/Surrey ANDsupporting theirglobal wide-area networks, connectivity to offices, office LAN and wireless networks, aswell as network connectivity at our datacentres and to our cloud providers.Your tasks will vary month to month, and could involve troubleshooting existing environments, researching new technologies, setting up new office network connectivity (WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, etc.), working as part of an acquisitions project team to integrate anewly acquired company. Having great attention to detail, and experience in running projects, is essential.This position is to assist and back up the Senior Network Engineers that are managing a move of a data centre ( Around 2000+ VM servers ) from an office based data centre to a CoLo in Slough, they will be involved in provisioning the network and supportingthe relocation works. Also, day to day support and escalations from the Network and Infrastructure Teams.Experience and Education5+ years of network engineering experienceBachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience requiredCisco CCNP certificationResponsibilitiesProvide network problem analysis, identification, and resolution of moderate to complex issues.Provide network knowledge to network architecture and/or management team to help make decisions concerning the network environment.Facilitate the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions across the enterprise.Work with network services team and vendors to ensure timely problem resolution.Create documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and/or service records.Write commands or processes for execution under multiple network environments.Demonstrate thorough understanding of all network components.Demonstrate knowledge of network parameters to control, configure, and install various network environments.Monitor, recommend changes and additions in data circuits and bandwidth.Establish and maintain adequate backup and recovery for all network devices.Independently troubleshoot networking problems to correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.Develop and maintain a production network capacity plan so that capacity can be forecasted, and equipment changes planned.The ideal technical skills mix would include:Significant IT experience in relevant domains operating in a Network Engineering Technical Lead or Network Technical Architect.In-depth understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP. Practical experience with Cisco IOS and network management, with firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and with Intrusion Detection/Prevention technologies such as Trend Tippingpoint, Palo Alto. An understanding of networking protocols related to LAN Switching, BGP Routing, Protocol Tags, Tunnels, NetFlow, Wi-Fi, 802.1x, NAC, Radius.Experience with design and implementation of network management systems.Demonstrable experience in translating high level technical architectures and service design requirements into a clear and coherent low-level design.A strong background in supporting large Enterprise networks, global WANs, and regional office LAN/Wi-Fi implementations, that support a diverse set of productsand a geographically disparate workforce.Is this sounds like you and youd be available to start within 2-4 weeks then please apply now for more details, thanks!
