Job Description

Job Title: Regional Lead, Financial CapabilityRegion: South Region (Home Based)Directorate: OperationsContract: Permanent, full timeSalary: £34,000 to £36,000 per annumThe RoleAt the Royal British Legion, we believe in building on potential. People who want to do the very best for others, while at the same time making the most of the opportunities and experiences we offer them.We are the countrys largest Armed Forces charity, with 210,000 members, 50,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities; helping us give support wherever and whenever its needed.As a Regional Lead (Financial Capability), you will be responsible for developing and managing individual support solutions, drawing on inputs from a wide network of professionals, agencies and volunteersIf successful, the main duties of your role will be:

  • Ensure the benefits and money advice service is delivered in accordance with FCA regulations, nationally agreed standards, and best practice.
  • Co-ordinate the allocation of resources and planning of support activities within the Benefits, Debt and Money Advice service, ensuring person centred support is provided by a combination of community based and remote working as necessary.
  • Oversee caseload allocation and monitor volume of referrals, ensuring that trends are identified and fed back to inform regional and national resource planning and, collecting appropriate casework data, to inform local lobbying/service improvement campaigning.
  • Carry our regular quality assurance and compliance checks, including staff observations, file reviews, checking the accuracy of advice given and reporting back on findings to the Regional Specialist Services Manager and individuals to ensure continuousdevelopment and service improvement.
  • To manage the Regional Benefits, Debt and Money Advice team including recruitment, induction, identifying training needs, ensuring appropriate training is undertaken and that relevant policies, practices and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure that effective case management is undertaken and that standards are maintained through regular audit of casework
This role is predominantly home-working, this means that you would be engaging with people over the phone, through video conferencing and by utilising other appropriate communication methods. There will also be some Face to Face meetings required throughoutthe region.
