Job Description

A forward thinking and progressive General Manager is required for a leading FMCG distributor.Client DetailsOur client is a leading FMCG distributor.DescriptionThe role of the General Manager is to oversee the management and smooth running of the daily operation. Based at our clients operation in the Southern Home Counties, you will be responsible for the site leadership and people related development through themanagement team and their respective people managers, as well as improving overall performance on all environmental health and safety (EHS), service and cost related KPIs and standards, as required. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor KPI performance against service, compliance, productivity and cost in line with targets and where relevant ensure the implementation of actions to reverse areas of under-performance.
  • Prioritise tactical actions to improve service and cost performance within the site.
  • Provide dynamic leadership, motivating people to deliver excellent performance through their team members.
  • Ensure the site is operating in accordance with compliance standards.
  • Champion and lead the health and safety culture which ensures safe processes, procedures and behaviours, as well as continuous improvement through best practice activities.
  • Responsible for building relationships with key customers.
  • Champion and lead DE&I, embracing an open dialogue and collaboration as part of the sites culture.
ProfileThe successful General Manager applicant will be based in the Southern Home Counties and be able to demonstrate the following experience:
  • Previous experience in leading a large scale, complex and fast pace logistics operation.
  • Be data led in your approach, with good analytical and commercial awareness
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a track record in building collaborative teams.
  • Leading with an operational excellence and growth mindset.
  • Self-motivated with good judgement and decision making qualities.
  • Project management skills would be advantageous.
