Job Description

PMLD Teaching Assistant - Greenwich - Secondary SEN SchoolThis is a great opportunity for people with a care or residential background as well as experienced SEN Teaching Assistant candidates. Learn new skills and take the next step in your career!We are recruiting for a PMLD Teaching Assistant at a secondary special needs schools across South East London for young people aged 11-19 with Autism, Complex Needs, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, PMLD, and Severe Learning Disabilities,SLD.Starting in ASAP on a full time & long term, temp to perm basis.

  • PMLD Teaching Assistant at a special needs
  • Starting in ASAP on a full time basis.
  • Monday to Friday 9am - 3:30pm.
  • Pay up £90 - £100 per day
  • You will need to support young people with care as well as education.
  • You will be working in groups of no more than 8 pupils at a time.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and other TAs in your group to provide holistic support to your young people.
  • Some pupils require Personal Care including toileting, changing and personal hygiene.
  • Some require Moving & Handling support with wheelchairs and hoists.
  • Most pupils are working on the Engagement Model of learning which focuses on 5 main areas: Exploration, Realisation, Anticipation, Persistence & Initiation.
  • This is a special needs school in south Manchester for young people aged 11-19 with Autism, Complex Needs, Profound & Multiple Learning Difficulties, PMLD and Severe Learning Disabilities, SLD.

To join us and be successful in this PMLD Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one).
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Minimum of 2 professional references.
  • Provide a CV with a full history from your education until present.
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK.
  • Some experience supporting children or young adults with special needs.
