Job Description

Global Sourcing Manager - Electronics £66-78k + Strong Bonus +BenefitsSouth East ABJ8459 Perm As Global Sourcing Manager for electronic components you will be executing centralised sourcing activities and supplier management approach Globally, working closely with the Operations, Supply Chain, Quality and R&D teams centrally and across geographies reporting into the Global Category Manager.The Global sourcing manager role key focus will be the management, negotiation and agreements of contracts for the manufacturing of new consumer products including components to make products. As global sourcing manager you will also conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality while building and maintaining good relationships with new and existing suppliers.Principal accountabilities

  • Define global sourcing strategies for the materials within scope, in alignment with the business requirements and relevant regulations, and in collaboration with the Geographic Head of Procurement and Procurement Business Managers.
  • Detailed knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and competitor activity, and expected trends at a geographic / global level.
  • Proven capability of applying supplier management techniques to deliver added value benefits in addition to contracted benefits.
  • Experience in successful development of complex, multi-country contracts and agreements.
  • Detailed knowledge of supply market, supplier capabilities and competitor activity, and expected trends at a geographic / global level
  • Sourcing of components in PCBA Manufacturing (EMS/JDM/ODM)
  • Understanding of PCBA design & manufacturing cost models, manufacturing process and tooling costs
  • Electronic Component knowledge
  • Battery Cells (Li-on) knowledge would be a plus
  • Low Cost Country (LCC) including China sourcing experience with a knowledge of the hardware market including PCBA and Contract Manufacturing including associated tooling and processes.
  • Detailed understanding of financial evaluation and interpretation of supplier’s records and their key cost and business drivers.
  • Lead global and geographic supplier management and drive geographic continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers in coordination with SNO and Quality.
  • Ensure effective price management for the materials within scope using relevant market intelligence; input into the category strategy through effective forecasting of prices and market changes.
    • Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required:
  • Relevant business qualification.
  • CIPS Corporate Diploma in Purchasing and/or membership of The Chartered Institute for Purchasing and
  • Supply or equivalent country qualification or membership would be an advantage
  • Working knowledge of the chemical or FMCG industries but experience in sourcing components like batteries, PCB’s small handheld electronic parts.
  • Sourcing of components in PCBA Manufacturing (EMS/JDM/ODM)
  • Understanding of PCBA design & manufacturing cost models, manufacturing process and tooling costs
  • Electronic Component knowledge
  • Battery Cells (Li-on) knowledge would be a plus
  • DESIRED (not essential) Experience with or fluency in Chinese and Mandarin language
