Job Description

Harris Lord are proud to be working in exclusive partnership with an international IVD manufacturing company who have tasked us with helping build their team for their new operation in the UK.Our clients in vitro diagnostic products are already well known and used in the UK, having been delivered through partner organisations and they are now in a position to launch and develop their own direct supply and service offerings into the UK. This is a unique opportunity to join their UK team from the outset and to be able to shape and influence the service provision aspect from the start.My client is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer with a strong background in IVD or Biomedical Engineering. This will be a customer facing position so you must have experience of and be confident in this type of role where you will be required to advise, train and be consultative with end users at client sites to enable them to utilise full functionality of the products and obtain full understanding of its capabilities.The responsibilities of this position are:

  • Install, repair and maintain our clients products (in vitro diagnostic equipment) across the UK at various sites
  • Carry out a variety of service activities as required including:
  • Installation
  • Preventitive maintenance
  • Reactive maintenance
  • Testing
  • Inspection
  • Calibrations
  • General trouble shooting
  • Make recommendations from the suite of clients products that could be of benefit to the end user and upselling where applicable.
  • Manage the inventory of spare parts to ensure minimal downtime of any machinery
  • Review and update service documentation where needed and interpret any technical terminology for end users
  • Track and report any failures and identify any failure trends
  • To be considered for this position, you must have at least three years experience in the repair, maintenance and installtion of medical diagnostic equipment used in laboratory settings and be open to travelling to multiple sites across the UK and potentially staying overnight if required.
