Job Description

Pricing LeadMillions of people get their gas and electricity from one of the UKs top energy provider, at home and at work - and this is your chance to join us as a Pricing Lead.This position is based in Solihull and will be a mixture of home working and office working. You will need to be able to get to site on a regular basis.The working hours for this role are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.The role is a 6-7 month contract with the potential to be extendedAbout the role:The Operations Pricing lead is responsible for the pricing of complex fixed and flex export structured products, ensuring costs reflect current and forecast market conditions, while supporting volume and hedging risk mitigation via appropriate contract termsand conditions.The post holder will be responsible for the development of new and existing pricing processes supporting a suite of complex electricity products, including those for power settlement, imbalance, embedded benefits, ROCs & REGOs along with any netting arrangements.They will need to understand the product pipeline and use understanding of customer contracts and Route to Market agreements to influence the development of such products ensuring the terms are sufficiently robust to improve the risk profile and risk adjustedreturns of the business.The role will require significant stakeholder management across I&C Commercial Operations, Finance. This will require detailed knowledge of the end to end commercial process.Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely, accurate and cost reflective pricing and contract management ensuring the application of accurate known and forecast costs and delivery of anticipated contract margin.
  • Responsible for ensuring there is appropriate control in place to manage pricing and contract management, statement & invoice production for power related products and environmental certificates ensuring DOA authorisation is adhered to and that effectiverisk mitigation is in place.
  • Provide monitoring and analysis of contract performance highlighting significant variations between point of delivery and point of sale margin with significant focus on loss making contracts in order to provide root cause analysis and value adding insightto the Generation Services Operations, Commercial and Sales managers on post contract value erosion.
  • Understand and interpret complex contract and product structures ensuring that processes, systems and SLAs are developed that support efficient price, statement and invoice production whilst recognising and mitigating the risk involved. This will protectgross margin through the contract lifecycle and contribute delivery of the business plan EBITA.
  • Build a capability within the team to understand the complex commercial risks, product structures and contracting process so that continuous improvement, improved efficiency and automation are considered BAU and support statement/invoice production, certificatemanagement and the business across a number of key stakeholder groups and interfaces to mitigate these risks.
Key Skills:Essential:
  • 3-5 years experience in the UK / EU energy market or in a Risk Management environment.
  • Demonstrate strong economic, market and financial analytical capability.
  • Strong understanding of commercial, financial and generation services functions
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong understanding of electricity and gas trading arrangements, in particular system imbalance
  • In depth understanding of valuation and risk analysis methods and statistical analysis.
  • Have good IT skills MS Office suite (especially Excel), VB(A), statistical packages.
  • Strong knowledge of internal risk policies, procedures and corporate risk directives
  • Demonstrate ability to transform theoretical knowledge to practical, real-world situations and be able to articulate complex issues in a concise and compelling fashion up to and at Director level
  • Be results-oriented, able to meet tight deadlines and produce clear and concise feedback/reports to senior management.
  • Be able to cope in a high pressure environment
Desirable:
  • A numerate or IS Business related degree is desirable (for example in Finance/Maths/Economics/Business Systems)

  • The pay will be £23.39 per hour (£45,000 pro rata annual equivalent salary)
  • Youll start with 28 days pro-rata annual leave year, but after 12 weeks this will increase to 34 days pro-rata (including bank holidays)
