Job Description

Job Title: Inspection EngineerHours: 37.5 hours on a rotating shift pattern AM/PMContract: Permanent, Full-timeDepartment: Test Pad (factory based)Salary: Once fully skilled £37,500 per annum. Start rate dependent on experienceAbout the company:Whale Tankers is one of the largest manufacturers of liquid waste tankers and jetting equipment in Europe. Through customer interaction, feedback and design innovation the company have ensured that its brand stands for durability, reliability and ease ofmaintenance, leading to high residual values on its vehicles.A need has arisen for an Inspection Engineer to join the team based at our Solihull Head Office on a permanent, full-time basis.Benefits

Your responsibilities will be:
  • Working through the test procedure to ensure our commercial tankers are built to specification and comply with relevant legislation
  • Complying with Health and Safety procedures
  • Ensuring the continuous flow of work through the Test Area
  • Fault finding, troubleshooting and resolving problems on a day to day basis
  • On the job training will be conducted where appropriate
Job Requirements:Essential
  • An engineering background including knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic and electric circuits
  • Ability to drive is essential
  • The ability to manage your own time
  • Able to read and inspect to customers specifications
  • Knowledge and experience working with commercial vehicles, plant machinery / HGV vehicles
  • Be of a practical and decisive nature with the ability to use common sense when reviewing issues
  • Have the desire to learn on a daily basis
  • Be a good problem solver with the ability to see an issue to its end
  • The ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
