Job Description

You are a seasoned underwriting and or credit operations manager with at least 3 - 5 years underwriting and operational experience within the financial services or leasing sector or certainly something very similar...and Id like to hear from you!Im hoping that youre currently considering a move to pastures new and feel confident that youll take with you strong practical experience of some, hopefully many, of the following, though not necessarily in this order:

  • Scorecard design and testing
  • The commercial risk implications associated with credit and lending decisions
  • Underwriting processes and procedures
  • Management information reporting
  • Credit and lending underwriting decision making
  • Workflow and work queue management
  • Process design and continuous improvement
  • Quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Financial statements
A highly diligent, objective, assertive and confident communicator, I believe youll be comfortable in both a hands-on and strategic day to day commercial credit and lending based role, adaptable to change and able to calmly liaise with internal stakeholdersthat may not always be entirely happy with your necessary decisions.So what about the role in questionBased East Berkshire and on the outskirts of West London, this known international business will potentially be very interested in discussing with you their search for an Underwriting Operations & Funding Manager. If ultimately successful in securing theposition, and they at securing your services, youd report to the Credit Director and in turn manage a team of 5 that oversees underwriting, review, booking and funding.Your role as Underwriting Operations & Funding Manager would also involve, but not be limited to:
  • Undertaking proposal reviews
  • Managing underwriters to ensure adherence to existing SLAs
  • Reviewing work queues
  • Acting as an applicable escalation point
  • Liaising and collaborating with IT regarding relevant projects
  • Testing and tuning of scorecards
and the packageOn offer is a starting salary of circa £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, though also negotiable and dependant on level of sector experience, along with a discretionary bonus and wide range of benefits that include:
