Tender Search OfficerSearching for a role where you can be the catalyst for change in Education Systems Join NFER as a Tender Search Officer and find the bid opportunities which make a positive, lasting impact in a leading independent charity with a worldwide reputation.Salary: £34,000 to £38,000Location: The role is based at our Slough office, but the team primarily work from home. You can be based anywhere in the UK, but you will need to travel into Slough around 6 times per year for team/company meetings or events.Job Type: Full time, PermanentAs a Tender Search Officer, your main purpose will be to systematically search publicly available information for potential bidding opportunities which match our organisational strategy. This critical role informs senior colleagues decision-making about bidsand business development, making it the first and essential step towards achieving NFERs mission to improve outcomes for future generations everywhere and to support positive change across education systems.Key responsibilities within the role include:- Searching for tender opportunities using a smart strategy.- Summarising and sharing bid information with colleagues for decision-making.- Supporting the continuous improvement of our tender search strategy.- Conducting business-focussed desk research when needed.Please note, this role does not include writing bids or conducting research beyond desk research (such as competitor/market research).REQUIREMENTSYou should possess the ability to conduct thorough and systematic searches, maintaining concentration for extended periods throughout the workday and taking a proactive lead in identifying relevant tender opportunities which align with NFERs impact and strategicobjectives.- Experience in conducting systematic searching (essential), ideally for tenders or grants.- Ability to think laterally- Quick but methodical decision-making ability.- Can maintain focus on a task for extended periods.- Handles large amounts of complex information at pace.- Basic Microsoft Office and good general IT skills.- Strong communication skills.- Customer-focused and works well independently.- Familiarity with the education sphere (ideally)- Embraces NFERs core values: Collaboration, Outcome Focus, Integrity, and Can before Cant attitude.Other roles you may have experience of which could give you relevant transferable skills for this job include: librarians, information officers from a more commercially focused setting, business support officers within a university that source information onfunding opportunities for academics, and data-heavy (qualitative) roles.WHY NFERAt NFER, our primary focus is on making a positive impact rather than pursuing profit.
