Job Description

A leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer is searching for a Supply Chain Specialist for one of their key sites based near Slough.As Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating logistics and distribution activities for all materials and products imported to or exported from Europe. You would help to ensure trade compliance and Good Manufacturing and Distribution (GMP/GDP) practices.You would be a great fit for this position if you have a solid knowledge of business processes for logistics, customs, warehouse and distribution activities across a multi-country network within the pharmaceutical sector.Key responsibilities of the Supply Chain Specialist include:

  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, brokerage, customs, and distribution functions to ensure goods are at the right place at the right time at the most efficient cost.
  • Coordination of inbound and outbound freight across several manufacturing and distribution operations. This will involve managing carriers across sea, air and road freight and the associated commercial and operational aspects of doing so.
  • Generate and manage all relevant documentation for Outbound and Inbound logistics across EU hubs. Assisting with providing documentation for audit purposes
  • Ensure that transportation continually delivers safe, low-cost, high quality and on-time deliveries through direct management of internal transport operations
  • Working closely with cross-functional disciplines to identify and resolve logistics needs and opportunities, and their impact on the entire supply chain, while managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Conduct EU Logistics activities and oversee Warehouse operations
  • Coordinate distribution of all products imported to, distributed in or exported from Europe
  • Ensure compliance with all EU logistical regulations
  • Ensure GDP compliance of all distribution in and from the EU
  • Investigates and resolves problems involving Logistics and Distribution
    • Key experience required:
  • European pharmaceutical experience in Supply Chain and/or Logistics
  • Experience in warehousing, distribution, logistics and GDP principles and practices
  • Good knowledge of European import/export pharmaceutical regulations
  • Experience in Global Logistics - land, sea and air
  • Good analytical, conceptual, problem solving & decision-making skills
