Job Description

Our client who is a leading provider of global monitoring solutions to a wide variety of industries, has an exciting new opportunity for a Site Technician based from Slough. Although the majority of time will be spent onsite across the South East with occasional days in the Slough office.There is also potential to work overseas, (project dependent) with expenses for travel, any applicable accommodation and meals fully covered for overseas and UK travel.This role would be ideal from someone who has experience working as a Site/Railway Technician, and is looking for a permanent role with a large well-established business.About the role

  • Mobilise instrumentation, plant and tooling for the installation of monitoring systems
  • Carry out the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of systems
  • Escalate instances of scope change, queries or challenges where mitigation is needed by others
  • Ensure concise communications with team members, support functions and customers through regular contact, both written and verbal
  • Report unsafe practices and instances of quality/service failure
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies and procedures to ensure a consistent approach to work delivery
  • When working as a ‘person in charge’, be accountable for their safety and the safety of all persons in their work group. This includes risks of being struck by trains and from the risks associated with the task and location. As a ‘person in charge’ hold COSS / SWL competencies or IWA when working alone
  • Actively contribute to Quality, Safety and Environmental initiatives, in order to support a proactive Health & Safety culture
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities
  • Provide support for other technicians & departments when necessary
  • Complete mandatory vehicle checks to ensure safety and road worthiness
  • Complete all training requirements to maintain compliance with FORS standard
  • About you
  • Good communication skills
  • Practical experience using equipment and tooling in a construction or tradesman capacity
  • Hold a range of industry specific competencies
  • Ability to work flexible working hours, including nights, weekends, at various locations throughout the UK
  • Experience working as a Site/Railway Technician, skilled labourer or Track Operative
  • Ability to exercise judgement to solve operational problems where the answer is not always apparent
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with direct reports, colleagues and customers
  • Personal Track Safety (PTS) and CSCS competency
  • Full driving license (Ideal)
